Does society have a case of extreme entitlement?

It seems there is increasing evidence that our current society has a case of entitlement - on steroids. There have been reports lately of increasing reports of this sense of entitlement in our society. Is it due to the “hey, look at me!” aspect of social networking such as on Facebook, Twitter, etc? Perhaps. What is clear is that people these days are more emboldened to not be afraid of challenging the status quo and grabbing attention.

Here is an article in today’s SF Gate about wild and wooly patrons at restaurants. The activities range from sex in bathrooms, pole dancing, and making scenes when paying the bill.

Another article relates to college students and their sense of entitlement as it relates to their performance in a class. Show up, do some work and expect an “A”. You betcha.
